Eleven is not just an age it is also a story written by Sandra Cisneros. It is about a young girl named Rachel who is turning eleven, but her birthday was ruined by her careless teacher, Mrs. Price. Mrs. Price made Rachel wear an ugly red sweater that smelled like cottage cheese even though it was not hers. She got embarrassed and her birthday was ruined. In my opinion both Mrs. Price and Rachel are credible characters, because they do things that real people would do.
One reason why Rachel is a credible character is because she talks back to her teacher, Mrs. Price. “That’s not, I don’t, you’re not . . . not mine.” The ugly red sweater is not Rachel's.This quote proves that Rachel is credible because she talked back to her teacher instead of just doing what she was told to do. I've seen a lot of students and kids do that. That's why this quote proves that Rachel is credible.
A second reason why Rachel is credible is because she wishes that she is older. “ . . . but I wish that I was 102.” Rachel wants to become older. This also proves that Rachel is a realistic character because a lot of kids just want to grow up fast. In this case Rachel wants to be older because she wants this day to be far away as possible. Many kids want to grow up so fast that they don't realize that being a kid is the best part in life.
Mrs. Price is credible because she is a teacher that sometimes doesn’t listen to her students. “But it’s not…” “Now!” Mrs. Price is not listening to Rachel. This proves that Mrs. Price is credible because teachers are not all the same, there are some teachers who act like Mrs. Price. Teachers have to be strict sometimes and thats probably what Mrs. Price's teaching styles are like.
Another reason why Mrs. Price is credible is because she is telling Rachel what to do. “You put that sweater on right now and no more nonsense.” Mrs. Price is very frustrated at Rachel. This also proves that Mrs. Price is credible because all teachers tell their students what to do. If they didn't children wouldn't do anything at school. So this is a really good reason for why Mrs. Price is credible.
In conclusion Eleven is a book about a girl, named Rachel, and about a teacher, named Mrs. Price who have don't get a long well. Rachel talked back to her teacher. She wishes that she was older. This is why Rachel is credible. Mrs. Price doesn’t listen to Rachel. Mrs. Price also tells Rachel what to do. This is why Mrs. Price is credible. These are reason that prove that both characters are credible.
